My keto fudge is a decadent, creamy treat that just melts in your mouth. With just 4 simple ingredients, this low carb fudge is as easy to make as it is satisfying to eat. Every bite is rich, smooth, and deliciously chocolatey—or white chocolatey, if you use the white chocolate variation!

This recipe holds so many memories for me. My grandmother grew up during a time when sugar and butter were rationed. As a child, she would sneak sugar and butter to make fudge when her parents weren’t home. While I’m sure her parents weren’t pleased, everyone absolutely loved her fudge, and she continued making it for her kids and grandchildren throughout her life. Fast forward to today, and I’ve adapted her recipe to have the same delicious flavor and texture, but without the sugar!
Why This Keto Fudge is the Best
- Low carb: With only 1.5g net carbs per piece, this fudge fits perfectly into your ketogenic lifestyle.

- Rich and creamy: The use of heavy cream and butter creates a luxurious texture that feels truly indulgent.
- Versatile: Make it with white chocolate, or customize with toppings like chopped nuts, sea salt, or even a swirl of peanut butter or sugar-free caramel.

Four Ingredients Breakdown
- Heavy Cream
- Why it’s used: Heavy cream is the cornerstone of this fudge, providing a rich, creamy base. It helps create a smooth texture that allows the fudge to melt in your mouth. The high-fat content is perfect for a keto diet, making this treat satisfying and indulgent without the carbs.
- Unsalted Butter
- Why it’s used: Butter adds a luxurious mouthfeel and depth of flavor to the fudge. It also helps to set the fudge properly, ensuring it holds its shape while still being wonderfully creamy. Using unsalted butter allows you to control the saltiness of your final product, letting the sweet flavors shine through.
- Powdered Sugar-Free Sweetener
- Why it’s used: A sugar-free sweetener keeps this fudge keto-friendly while providing the necessary sweetness. Powdered sweeteners dissolve more easily than granulated ones, ensuring a smooth, non-gritty texture. The amount of sweetener can be adjusted to taste, allowing you to customize the sweetness level to your preference.
- Sugar-Free Chocolate Chips
- Why it’s used: Chocolate chips are the star ingredient, offering that rich, chocolatey flavor we all love. Whether you prefer dark, milk, or white chocolate, using sugar-free chocolate chips keeps the carb count low while delivering maximum flavor. They also help the fudge set, giving it a firm but melt-in-your-mouth texture.

How to Make Keto Fudge
This low carb fudge is so simple to make, you’ll wonder why you haven’t tried it sooner. Here’s a step-by-step guide:
Step 1: Heat the Cream and Butter
In a small saucepan, combine the heavy cream and unsalted butter. Heat the mixture over low to medium heat, stirring constantly to prevent scorching. As the mixture warms up, it will begin to thicken slightly.
Step 2: Add the Sweetener
Once the cream and butter are combined, stir in the powdered sweetener. Keep stirring until the sweetener is fully dissolved, and the mixture is smooth. Taste and adjust the sweetness as needed.
Step 3: Melt the Chocolate
Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the sugar-free chocolate chips. The residual heat will melt the chocolate, creating a silky, glossy mixture. Be sure to stir until all the chocolate is melted and fully incorporated.
Step 4: Pour and Chill
Line an 8×4-inch loaf pan with parchment paper, leaving enough overhang to lift the fudge out later. Pour the chocolate mixture into the prepared pan and spread it evenly with a spatula.
Refrigerate the fudge for at least 2-3 hours, or until it’s firm enough to slice. For an extra firm texture, you can freeze it for 30-60 minutes instead.
Step 5: Slice and Enjoy
Once the fudge is set, lift it out of the pan using the parchment paper. Use a sharp knife to slice it into 12 even pieces. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week (if it lasts that long!).
Variations
White Chocolate Fudge
- Follow the same steps, but use sugar-free white chocolate chips instead of chocolate chips, and only use 1/4 cup of sweetener instead of 1/2 cup.
Adding Nuts or Flavorings
- Feel free to get creative by adding nuts, such as pecans or walnuts, for extra crunch. You can also experiment with flavorings like vanilla extract, almond extract, or peppermint extract, or even swirling in some peanut butter for peanut butter fudge.
Add Peanut Butter or Caramel Swirl
- After speading the fudge mixture into the pan, add a couple tablespoons of creamy peanut butter or sugar free caramel and swirl it in before allowing the fudge to set.
